Hi all! This is the site to track our Western States Trip. We'll up date as we go and keep a journal page((well there are several journal pages now - the first is off line for the time being, the second is acessible from clicking journal page) of "old" updates. Check out the travel photo and story links in the body of the text below. View the chat page for scheduled chats. These pages are not edited and often written in haste - so please forgive the typos & spelling & gramatical errors and do enjoy! I've had to save the beginning parts to zip as I filled my alotted web space.
Itinerary
After a false start we headed to Las Vegas We visited family in Henderson. Next we went to Bullhead City, Hoover Dam and on to Williams, the "Gateway of the Grand Caynon".  We camped 4 nights at Grand Canyon, then to Flagstaff and the meteor crater. We journeyed  north to Grand Canyon north rim via Marble Canyon and on to  Zion NP via Pipe Springs NM. We enjoyed the hot springa in Hurricane before going on to  Bryce  Canyon NP. We drove to Capitol Reef NP, with stops at Grosvenor Arch and a petrified forest. We continued on to Natural BridgesNM, Canyonlands NP and Arches  NP.  Then in to Grand Junction Colorado and some visits with homeschoolers. Next to beautiful Telluride and a visit with family campers, then to my Aunt's in Montrose. After a drive through of Black Canyon NP, we arrived at the organic farm of a homeschooling family near Paonia, CO.  where we lingered for three days! We visited Dinosaur NM, went to Midway Hotsprings and stayed with a homeschooled family in Logan, Utah. We drove more or less straight through to Bend , OR. where we spent a wonderful week and attended my cousin's wedding. We crossed Idaho, enjoying homeschooler visits, hot springs and the Sawtooth Mts.  Grand Teton and Yellowstone were awesome and we stayed almost two weeks. Then across WY via Thermopolis to Custer State Park, SD and Mt. Rushmore. We crossed Montana, visiting homeschoolers on the way to Glacier NP.  We will cross Northern Idaho & Washington, then follow the coast home. I anticipate many inland jogs along our way south. Our expected return is early August, more or less.

June 2 to June 16
We headed to Jackson and on to Grand Teton National Park where we took extra photos and a few more then on to Yellowstone where
wildlife, geysers and waterfalls abounded. Then across Wyoming to the Black Hills and Custer State Park in SD and Mt Rushmore.

June 17 to 22nd
We left Rapid City, SD and headed across Wyoming to Devil's Tower. Then took a back road to Montana and continued across to Bozeman. Next we visited two homeschooling families, one in Deer Lodge and one outside of Stevensville. Now on to Glacier NP.
